This book basically talks about success and prosperity from a Christian point of view, which is not unusual for most Christian books. However, this book viewed prosperity from a totally different viewpoint. One that I had NEVER heard of before. As I started to read it, I braced myself for the normal message that you usually hear regarding Christian prosperity and success which is usually TITHING. I am not against tithing if that's what a person purposes in their hearts to do according to 2 Corinthians 9:7, however for me personally I tithed for years but never saw the promises of tithing in my life or the lives of others, so I stopped tithing and just simply started giving according to the referenced scripture. With that said, this book said absolutely NOTHING about tithing, which was refreshing to say the least. The author basically mentioned throughout the book that success and prosperity is a matter of the heart. The more I read it the more it made sense. I plan to apply the principles of this book to my life and look forward to the outcome. I only gave it four stars because although the author is somewhat informative about issues of the heart, he doesn't really go into enough specifics about how to change your heart, without referring to the advertisement for his program "Heart Physics," throughout the book. When I went to his website, the heart physics program costs $249! Very expensive for the average person to pay. Besides all that, the website offers SO MANY PROGRAMS regarding the heart, that I kind of got lost and confused as to where to start. For now, I will just continue to read and educate myself with other materials. Having said that, this book is an excellent place to start for those who desire to be successful and learn why the heart has everything to do with it.

Thrilled with this book! Worth reading again and again.

I am an avid reader so when I come across a book that makes me say, aHa! every once in a while, I relegate it to my "read again" shelf. Well, this one got an aha about every page! I like books that make me think, challenge my "norms"; encourage moving forward and upward and gives me the practical steps top of it.

I will mention, too, that I am a Christian but cautiously. It's simply that too many Christians jump to conclusions about books that talk about success and meditation without trying to understand the whole message. We are designed (by God) to succeed but all too quickly are taught to "kill" that desire to do better because a good Christian doesn't want more. And mention the word meditation and watch out!

I challenge open minded Christians to read this book. And for everyone else, it isn't a preachy book and you will learn that even if you don't go to church, Richards' book will inspire you too. Worth reading again and again.

Reba's family lived in the North East corner of Randolph County Arkansas, between the towns of Walnut Ridge and Pocahontas.

Her father, William Henry Morgan, was a farm worker.

Her mother, Mae Morgan, cared for the family along with any other chores that might help Henry with his work load.

Reba was the third child in the family of seven children. She was born two months premature. The Doctor, who arrived at the house a few hours after her birth, told Reba's father, if she could survive through the third day, she might have a chance to live.

Reba's life has always been like that, surviving through to the next day. This seems to be a commonly shared story amongst many people of Arkansas in the 40's and 50's. Reba wrote down what she saw and heard. Reba started keeping a diary at a very young age. She would write in the diary the stories shared amongst family members, whenever the family gathered on a Sunday or for a special occasion. This was her way of having a record of the family history. Reba would always ask questions.
“Tell me about our house burning to the ground before I was born?
Is it true that Uncle Tommy wife was doing the ironing when the gas iron she was using explored, causing her to burn to death?”
She remembered very well the death of her younger brother, Bennie, and her sister, Grace Lee.
How excited she was when, at the age of 16, they got electricity in their home. The thrill of meeting the man who would be the love of her life, James Warren Alsup.
Their marriage, and all the adventures that always follows the start of any new family life.
The thrill of the birth of her six children, the loss of one at the age of four. The pride of a mother in watching her children start their own families.
The loss of her one true love.

This book is excerpts from her diary, which she still continues to write in, at the age of 85. She has a fairly large web site, http://www.thealsupconnection.com, with the genealogical records of the Alsup and Morgan family history which, she still maintains.

Happily, The Material Is Also Very Readable And Should Serve As An Excellent Textbook

"Although there are a number of excellent books dealing with skeletal radiology, the addition of these volumes to the literature is more than welcome.
The unique format and the approach taken by Drs. Yochum and Rowe should make this book particularly valuable as a reference source.

HAPPILY, THE MATERIAL IS ALSO VERY READABLE AND SHOULD SERVE AS AN EXCELLENT TEXTBOOK.
As an educator I am especially pleased to have the chapter dealing with principles of radiological interpretation included since this material in detail is not found elsewhere....."

JAMES A. HENRETTA is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Maryland, College Park. His publications include The Evolution of American Society, 1700-1815: An Interdisciplinary Analysis; “Salutary Neglect”: Colonial Administration under the Duke of Newcastle; Evolution and Revolution: American Society, 1600-1820; The Origins of American Capitalism; and an edited volume, Republicanism and Liberalism in America and the German States, 1750-1850. His most recent publication is a long article, “Charles Evans Hughes and the Strange Death of Liberal America,” (Law and History Review, 2006), derived from his ongoing research on The Liberal State in America: New York, 1820-1975.�REBECCA EDWARDS is a Professor of History at Vassar College. Her research interests focus on the post-Civil War era and include electoral politics, environmental history, and the history of women and gender roles. She is the author of Angels in the Machinery: Gender in American Party Politics from the Civil War to the Progressive Era (1997) and New Spirits: Americans in the "Gilded Age," 1865-1905 (Second Edition 2010). She is currently working on a biography of women's rights advocate and People's Party orator Mary E. Lease.�ROBERT O. SELF is an Associate Professor of History at Brown University. His research focuses on urban history, the history of race and American political culture, post-1945 U.S. society and culture, and gender and sexuality in American politics. His first book, American Babylon: Race and the Struggle for Postwar Oakland, won four professional prizes, including the James A. Rawley prize from the Organization of American Historians (OAH). He is currently at work on a book about gender, sexuality, and political culture in the United States from 1964 to 2004.

Not a bad read for a textbook

I'm not sure I am qualified to review a History Textbook, it's not like I am just buying up and reading volumes of history for my own critiquing or pleasure.

In all seriousness, I purchased this book because I had to have it for my History 202 class. The teacher used this book exclusively as the resource material for the course. I found at times the viewpoints on events to be fairly subjective, connecting together a cause and effect, or an action and subsequent reaction in a very black and white fashion. I realize that the burden of covering a significant event or happening within a short page or two can lead to some generalizations or loss of nuance, so it can be excused. Maybe that tendency is my beef with History books in general after all, and not a shortcoming of this book.

With that being said, I enjoyed some portions of this text for the straightforward way in which it presents history.

This book was not only decently priced but in the exact condition it was described as. Maybe a little better. Thank you!! Will definitely buy from again
